WP1: Capacity building in innovative plantomics: Leader HMGU

AIM: Improve the skills of ER, ESR & technicians in innovative plant  omics tools

Task 1.1: Increasing knowledge of plant omics tools: HMGU

Task 1.3: Development of teaching modules on omic approaches: USF (prepare innovative modules/courses on NGS for Master degree or phD program)

WP2: Strengthening technical knowledge on plant growth, crop production, improvement of seed quality and sanitation of propagated crops:Leader UGent

AIM: Improve the technical knowledge and skills in advanced methods for:

1.  monitoring and improvement of plant growth and crop production.

2. production of pathogen-free crops.

3. improvement of seed quality.

WP3: Omics approaches for improving cereal tolerance to drought stress:

Leader USF

AIM: provide a comprehensive knowledge of state-of-the-art research on the use of Omics approaches to understand mechanisms of wheat tolerance to drought stress.:

Task 3.1: Fundamental phenology combined with advanced phenotyping technology for the identification of wheat varieties with contrasting tolerance to drought

                   stress – Leader: UniPV

Task 3.2: Genotyping by sequencing and transcriptome analysis (RNA-seq) on contrasting wheat varieties – Leader: HMGU 

Task 3.3: Functional characterisation of master regulators of the response of wheat to drought stress -Leader: USF

Task 3.4: Exploitation of PGPM to improve tolerance of wheat to drought stress – Leader: UGent.

WP4: Establishment of a national network for sustainable agriculture and healthy food

AIM:  implement a network for the exchange of knowledge, experience/expertise among various stakeholders in order to promote the transfer of technology and scientific innovation in the “agri-food” sector and contribute to its competitiveness and growth.

AIM: promote the visibility of InPlantomics project and share its results with scientific communities in Tunisia and beyond, as well as with other stakeholders interested in the discovery of advanced biotechnological tools and their potential for addressing sustainable agriculture, food security and healthy nutrition

AIM: ensure project coordination, smooth communication between partners and with EU commission and enhance project management capacities at USF
